Kapil Sharma, Rajpal Yadav death threat cases to be transferred to CBI?

In response to this distressing situation, the police have stated News18, confirming that they are conducting a thorough investigation and taking the threats very seriously. An FIR has been registered at the Amboli Police Station against an unidentified individual under Section 351(3) of the Bombay Police Act.

Senior Police Inspector Sadashiv Nikam provided insights into the investigation, “We have written to our zonal officers. And the communication is being forwarded to the CBI. We are keeping them in the loop since it’s an international case, but they aren’t actively involved yet. It will take some time to identify the sender of this email. The email was indeed real. And the sender identified himself as ‘Bishnu.’ However, we cannot confirm if this is a genuine name or a prankster.”

Nikam assured that the police are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness, emphasizing, “We will definitely find the culprit. The investigation is ongoing.”

Timeline and Further Developments

Nikam elaborated on the timeline, revealing, “We initially received a complaint from Rajpal Yadav, which we filed on December 17. Subsequently, Kapil Sharma and his team also reported threats, prompting us to file an FIR and collaborate with the cyber police and other officers. They are currently analyzing the data from the associated IP address, which has been traced to Pakistan. This is why we require CBI intervention, but obtaining information from Pakistan is a complex process.”

Additionally, he mentioned that threats directed at Sugandha Mishra and Remo D’Souza have been recorded at the Oshiwara Police Station.

Content of the Threatening Email

The situation escalated in December when Kapil Sharma and other celebrities received a death threat via email, signed by someone identifying themselves as “BISHNU.” Reports indicate that the email stated, “We are monitoring your recent activities, and we believe it is important to bring to your attention a sensitive matter. This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you. We urge you to treat this message with utmost seriousness and confidentiality.”

The ongoing investigation aims to ensure the safety of the involved celebrities while uncovering the identity of the sender.
